A vineyard ahead of its time.
The Central region of Umbria is also known as the green heart of Italy
In 2009, the innovative Castello Monte Vibiano was the Italian first farm to be certified Zero CO2 emissions (DNV UNI ISO 14064). An achievement as a result of direct action as opposed to any offsetting arrangement
This impressive feat was borne from the remarkable foresight of Il Dottore Andrea Fasola Bologna when over half a century ago he planted over 10,000 trees to surround the agricultural area of the Estate.
Due to his vison and patience, these trees have grown into a majestic “Green Fence” protecting the vineyards and olive orchards from the environmental impact of mankind
Only 40% of the Estate is dedicated to agriculture; whereas the“Green Fence” proudly accounts for 31% of the land use.
